HEPA and activated carbon filter for Bambu Lab H2

HEPA14 + Activated Carbon Filter for the Bambu Lab H2 Series

The limited original filter of the Bambu Lab H2 series prompted us to design this system with a larger HEPA 14 filter and activated carbon. Since the machine prints technical filaments, the risk of emissions is significant.

The kit can also function as a filament waste container. It is designed to be printed by the user, without requiring any modifications to the machine.

The Bambu Lab H2 series filtration kit allows you to 3D print your own kit using the provided STL, STEP files.

Recommendations

While the Kit Bambu Lab significantly reduces ultrafine particles and VOC concentrations, up to 4 times less in our tests. It's important to note that high-emission filaments (ABA, ASA, Nylon, PETG, PC) can still produce considerable levels of pollutants.

To ensure a safer printing environment, we recommend:

  1. Ventilating the Room: Operate your 3D printer in a well-ventilated area to further reduce particle and VOC buildup.
  2. Using Low-Emission Filaments: Opt for filaments with lower emission profiles whenever possible.
  3. Placing the Printer Strategically: Keep the printer in a dedicated space, away from living areas or places where prolonged exposure to emissions could occur.
  4. Recommended settings: PETG filament and a 0.4 mm nozzle.

  FAQ

Why do we need your filtration system if the Bambu Lab H2 series already has an air filter?

The Bambu Lab H2 series is already equipped with a three-stage filtration system: G3, HEPA 12, and activated carbon.

From a scientific standpoint, the term “HEPA 12” isn’t accurate. It is more correct to refer to EPA 12, or HEPA 13 and HEPA 14. Some manufacturers occasionally use incorrect naming conventions. As for the G3 filter, it is a pre-filter, well suited for use with a combined laser cutter, but it isn’t necessary for 3D printing.

Our filter is made of activated carbon and a HEPA 14 filter, which is significantly more effective than EPA 12 at capturing nanoparticles. In addition, our filter is thicker than the original, and we have tested the performance of our P4D-R filter, specifically designed for 3D printers.

Where does the filament waste come out?

The filament waste is collected in the flexible air duct. To remove all the waste, simply unscrew the pipe.
