I. The Chemical Challenge
Engineering labs, dental clinics, and prototyping centers are quickly starting to use large 3D printing systems like the Formlabs Form 4 and Form 4L, along with cleaning and curing machines such as the Form Wash and Form Cure .
However, as resin printing capacity scales up, so do air quality and safety hazards. While resin heating and UV curing emit significant amounts of volatile organic compounds (VOCs), post-processing using 37 to 43 liters of isopropyl alcohol (IPA) leads to high rates of solvent evaporation.
In compliance with European fire safety standards (NF EN 14470-1), OSHA and INRS prevention guidelines, bulk IPA must be stored in certified fire-resistant safety cabinets. For active washing processes, INRS recommends local exhaust ventilation (source capture) to keep VOC exposure well below occupational.
II. Custom Alveo3D Enclosures for Formlabs SLA
For custom bench layouts, Alveo3D designs tailored aluminum enclosures built specifically for Formlabs printers, Wash, and Cure stations.
Built with industrial aluminum profiles and 4 mm clear polycarbonate, our enclosures offer high impact and heat resistance while giving you an unobstructed view of your prints.

1. Heavy Vapour & VOC Extraction
To control resin fumes and heavy IPA evaporation from 37L+ wash tanks, our enclosures connect directly to the FE350 extraction system. It features a heavy payload of activated carbon (for IPA and resin VOCs) paired with an optional HEPA H13/H14 filter (for sub-micron particles).

2. Fully Modular Accessories
Customize your enclosure to meet strict lab and safety standards:
- UV Safety: Optional opaque or UV-filtering panels prevent ambient light from curing liquid resin in open vats.
- Fire Safety: Integrated smoke detectors and emergency fire protection options.
- Integrated Power: Built-in multi-socket power strips (multiprises) with clean cable routing.
- Workflow Storage: Heavy-duty shelving for resin cartridges, build platforms, and finishing tools.

While bulk IPA stock belongs in a certified fire cabinet per safety regulations (OSHA in US / INRS in France), running the machines themselves requires active process containment.
