3D printing with technical materials (ABS, ASA, PC, Nylon) has become accessible thanks to the performance of Bambu Lab printers. However, this production power comes with a health risk that is often underestimated: the massive emission of Ultrafine Particles (UFPs) and Volatile Organic Compounds (VOCs).
Limitations of the Original Filters
Bambu Lab printers come with built-in filters, but for intensive or professional use, they have some limitations:
- Insufficient density: Often limited to simple activated carbon or EPA12 (Bambu Lab) < HEPA 13 (Alveo3D) < HEPA 14 (Alveo3D).
- Small size: The filtration surface is too small to effectively capture the constant flow during long prints.
- Sealing: The internal filtration system does not ensure enough negative pressure to prevent leaks outside the chamber.
Certified and Suitable Protection
Alveo3D offers high-performance filtration solutions using combined HEPA 13/14 and high-density activated carbon filters, specifically tested for emissions related to 3D printing
1. Filtration Kit for Bambu Lab X1C / P1S
This kit replaces or complements your machine’s internal system to create a safe working environment. It is equipped with a HEPA 13 filter capable of capturing 99.97% of particles, combined with activated carbon to reduce odors.
The system also helps contain filament waste, and an integrated remote control makes it very convenient to use.

2. High‑Performance Kit for Bambu Lab P2S
For the new P2S generation, Alveo3D offers an upgraded filtration system with a P4D-R filter equipped with HEPA 14 and activated carbon.
This level of filtration is standard in enclosed environments without an air extraction system, providing maximum protection against the finest particles.
The filtration system will be installed above the machine, instead of at the rear as with the X1C kit.

3. Kit for the Bambu Lab H2 Series
Designed specifically for the H2 series structure (H2D, H2C, H2S), this kit ensures that nanoparticles (<100 nm) produced by technical polymers are effectively neutralized.
It features an integrated air-recycling system within the enclosure. This system recirculates air inside the enclosure to retain heat—essential for printing technical parts in ABS and ASA—while reducing nanoparticle emissions.
This is an upgrade for the X1C / P1S models, based on the same concept but with a P4D-R filter equipped with HEPA14 instead of a P3D-R with HEPA13.

4. The ultimate option: The custom enclosure with smoke extractor
For companies and laboratories managing multiple printers (print farms), the best solution remains full containment.
As shown in our setup, we recommend using a custom enclosure paired with an FE150 or FE350 smoke extractor.
The advantages of this configuration:
- Negative Pressure: The extractor draws air from the enclosure, creating a vacuum that prevents any particles from escaping through door gaps.
- Enhanced Filtration Capacity: The 350 smoke extractor features a much thicker filter cartridge, ideal for intensive chemical (VOC) filtration.
- Optional External Exhaust: Filtered air can either be released back into the room (99.99% filtration) or vented outside via a flexible duct.
- Acoustic Comfort: The enclosure also significantly reduces the noise from the high-speed fans of Bambu Lab printers.

Investing in an Alveo3D system means choosing a proven and validated filtration technology designed to address the specific risks of additive manufacturing.
