3D Print Lyon Trade Show: Immersive experience by Alveo3D

Like every year, the Alveo3D team walked the aisles of the 3D Print Lyon exhibition, the must-attend event for additive manufacturing professionals in France.

Our goal? To catch up with our customers, exchange insights with leading manufacturers and distributors in the industry, and take the pulse of a rapidly changing market.From strategic surprises to technical breakthroughs, here is a breakdown of this year's edition.

I. The decline in the presence of French exhibitors

We observed, with some regret, a decline in the representation of French manufacturers and players in their own domestic market. This is a trend that raises questions about the current industrial and economic challenges facing the French sector.

Conversely, the show established itself this year as a major showcase for Chinese players. Their strong presence and competitive innovations confirm that Asia is rapidly redefining the standards of both industrial and consumer 3D printing.

II. Rich exchanges with industry leaders

Even with these developments, the trade show remains an important place for building partnerships. We had the pleasure of holding engaging discussions with teams who share our vision of more efficient and safer 3D printing.

The highlight of our visit was undoubtedly the tangible realization of our expertise in filtering emissions from 3D printing.

We were extremely proud to see our Alveo3D filtration system directly integrated into the BigRep IPSO 105, a benchmark machine for large-format printing. Operator safety and ambient air quality are finally becoming standard criteria for industrial manufacturers.

Next step: thinking even bigger. Given the print volume of these industrial machines and the demands of technical filaments (which emit higher levels of VOCs and nanoparticles), we are starting discussions with the BigRep R&D team. The goal? To develop an even more advanced filtration system, perfectly adapted to the constraints of large-scale industrial additive manufacturing.
